History Of US Bangla Airlines
When US-Bangla Airlines first started operating on July 17, 2014, there Were local flights. Before going international, the airline only flew to two local cities: Chittagong and Jessore. Beginning in August, there were flights from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. There were planes to Saidpur starting in October.
In July 2016, the airline said it would slowly start bringing in its first three Boeing 737-800 planes in September of that year. It also said it would start flying to new foreign destinations, like Singapore and Dubai. In February 2019, US-Bangla Airlines said it was buying four ATR 72-600 planes for local trips. On March 22, 2019, the first plane was sent from Toulouse to Dhaka via Muscat and El Dabaa.
Along with Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines had Bangladesh’s second most extensive fleet by September 2019.
As of mid-2020, the airline was meant to start direct flights from Sylhet to other Bangladeshi towns like Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Jessore. They would also add a flight from Chittagong to Jessore to make getting to Sylhet easier. The company also said it would add four more foreign lines in the first half of 2021, to Abu Dhabi, Colombo, Malé, and others. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, these plans had to be put on hold.
The company got its first wide-body plane, an Airbus A330-300, rented from Hi Fly’s Maltese branch on February 9, 2024. All 436 seats are in the economy class. The company also wants to buy another one. The airline intends to use these planes to fly to towns in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other Middle Eastern countries, as well as for Hajj.

US Bangla Airlines Accidents and Incidents
Flight 211
Bombardier Dash 8 Q-402 Flight 211, operated by US-Bangla Airlines and registered as S2-AGU, crashed while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on March 12, 2018, killing 51 of the 71 people on board. Published on January 27, 2019, the final accident report said that “the probable cause of the accident is due to disorientation and a complete loss of situational awareness on the part of crewmember.”

Launched from Dhaka airport at 11:30 am on September 26, 2018, US-Bangla Airlines Flight 141, a Boeing 737-800 registration number S2-AJA, carried 164 passengers and seven staff members. At 12:30 pm, it was supposed to land at the Cox’s Bazar National Airport. As they got closer to Cox’s Bazar, the malfunctioning nose-wheel system stopped the wheel door from opening. So that the plane would be lighter and less likely to catch fire when it hit, the pilot put the Boeing 737-800 into a holding pattern over Chittagong. Eventually, at 1:18 pm, the plane landed. While rushing to get off the plane, some people got slight injuries. Similar things happened to JetBlue Flight 292
